Snow near Annecy

We piled into the Godon's big car early one morning and headed for Annecy. Lauryne was driving and had a surprise for me. I'd been to Annecy before, but not up this road...
We followed a stream
Round-abouts are difficult to photograph
Just an ordinary road heading uphill
Oops...what's that white stuff doing here on the first of May?
We keep climbing
It's a ski area!
And there's Mont Blanc...highest peak straight ahead

We piled out of the car for a better look.

Mimi shared her binoculars.

Marie-Annick and Lauryne seemed to be taking a long time to get out of the car. Laughing, they finally joined us.

Marie-Annick's water bottle had been on the floor along with my little travel purse that holds my passport, international driver's license, credit cards, and paper money. The water bottle had opened. My stuff had been soaked. Fortunately the passport was only a little damp.

All of the wet items were now on the dash to dry.

As we headed down the mountain there were many jokes about loose money....
France sometimes seems to be one big cheerful garden.
We had left the Alps, but the usual road to the restaurant overlooking the lake was barricaded so we had to take a longer route to get there...
Once again we are climbing, but there's no snow. The loose rock was covered with metal netting.
