Tournus

Elisabeth took us to Tournus to see the Abbaye with pink stone.


I sat across from the church on a short stone pillar next to this determined plant...not much dirt to grow in...with its tiny purple flowers

while Elisabeth found a parking space

and Harriet Ann and Mimi went exploring at the far end of the entrance road where some work was being done.
I didn't think to take a picture of the outside of the Abbaye because I've been here before, but Mimi took the next picture...
The Abbaye is now1,000 years old.
 Only the entrance is dark and dreary...
Some of the original art work has been restored. Note that the stone has a pink hue.

We wandered out to the cloisters...

 Above is behind the Abbaye while below is simply a potted holly with red berries
