Annecy

We traveled through the outskirts of Annecy on our way to the older, center of the town.

 Some round-abouts are quite unique...
I can't resist taking pictures of flowers. Luckily for my viewers, they don't all end up in the blog.

Lauryne found a place to park and assembled the wheelchair so I wouldn't be walking a good distance on cobblestones. My ankles and knees were truly grateful!

Mimi is the photographer for this shot of the fountain with lions spitting water.

Then we headed under the arch to the streets that run along the water.

Some took a bathroom break. Marie-Annick and I got to sit along the canal.

That tree trunk behind her is an old wisteria!

I didn't know there is such a thing as white wisteria! It was like sitting under lace.

These buildings were across the way. How cool to have a door that opens onto a canal of clean, clear water!

This huge dog was getting more attention than its owner who wasn't playing his guitar while the dog shook "hands" with pedestrians. Beautiful friendly animal!
You could choose to sit in the sun or in cool shade under the archways...

This is the old jail. It sits between canals. If you managed to escape from behind its walls, you would need to go wading.

In the next picture we are approaching the harbor.
Looking back at the old jail...

Lac d'Annecy is known for its clean water which flows through the town. We continued on our way to wander around the park by the harbor. It was too late for a boat ride...next trip!
Mimi spotted this duck. None of us knew what kind of duck it was so it became a Google project.  It's a Red Crested Pochard.
