Early Morning

We played Rummikub after dinner last night and went to bed around 11 PM. I slept until 5 AM so my internal clock is adjusting.

I managed to stay in bed for another 45 minutes, but more sleep wasn't coming my way. I can't find the book I had started...it may have been left on the plane. I don't want to wake up anyone...the dulcimer isn't quiet enough for a silent house. That leaves the computer.

This is looking into the office and kitchen from the dining room. Francis is playing with Lauryne's puppy. He's really well behaved for a 7 month old, but size makes him a wiggly handful.

And Mary, I thought of you as soon as I noticed Marie-Annick's jade plant. It definitely wouldn't fit on your window sill! The plant is sitting in the garden right outside the living room double doors. Since the pot is on wheels, it obviously comes and goes depending on the season.

This is a good time to make a correction from an earlier post. The house behind the porch wall isn't Lauryne's house. It's the nasty, noisy neighbor. Lauryne's house is further down the wall. I find it fascinating how buildings, separate homes, often share a wall. The noise problem wasn't through the wall...the stone walls are much too thick for that. The neighbor keeps a large number of dogs outside and would let them bark for hours.
