Windows plus

We had one very hot day this summer. Griffin's bedroom had no good cross ventilation and even with the skylight open the heat just sat there. He had 2 old windows at loft level that didn't open. We decided to replace them with larger windows that could hold an air conditioner if need be.
The old windows

The new windows
The hole.
And voila!
No bird has flown into this window since I hung the silver streamer. Then one strand of tinsel stopped blowing in the breeze. It really was quite amazing. A spider's web had captured the tinsel, but the web was barely visible.

The gardens produce an abundance of flowers.
Once again I managed to get a vase of flowers on each teacher's desk as well as the office staff desks beginning the first week of school, which is in August. Elisabeth visited from France during the first 2 weeks of October and helped me find gourds that I could deliver when I finally had no more flowers. After her visit I picked up the vases, cleaned them and put them away for next year.
