Whale Watch and Goodbye

After spending a couple of days in Vermont, we took 2 cars to visit with Jack and Linda in Marblehead, Massachusetts. Francis and Marie-Annick were leaving Marblehead to fly to Seattle for a visit with friends on the west coast. Lauryne and Kevin would return with me to Vermont and then to the cottage before taking a train to New York City and then home to Sologny, France.

Meanwhile, we planned to take a boat out of Gloucester to see whales and then to visit the Witches Museum in Salem. It would be a busy day...
Gloucester harbor
Castles?
A lighthouse makes more sense than castles along the shore...
We actually got far enough out into the ocean to have no land in sight. Unfortunately there were also no whales in sight! We all now have free passes, if we don't lose them, to go on another whale watch whenever the Godons happen to return to the States.
Back at the cottage Ursula watches her dad as he joins us for a game of Rummikub.
Kevin and Lauryne relax on the cottage porch.
In Ticonderoga, waiting for the train...
And they're off. Sure wish France wasn't so far away!
