The roses that had graced my terrace are fading, but fragrance is in the air because the linden tree, the honeysuckle and this mock orange are in bloom.
Anne was willing to come with me in the BB car for some sightseeing. We turned left at Aze.
Apparently this place had been bought by a Japanese man who has not returned. It's boarded up.
Along the road we spotted this lavoir. The water is moving through because the drainage ditch is wet.
This place was next door...
So many houses have towers. I wonder if that's living space, storage space, or unused space.
I'm in love with the abundance of roses...
We spotted a church tower in Vire with the colored tiles and turned down a side road to get closer.
We found the church, but up close the sun made the tiles look black.
I had lost my sense of direction so we wandered around Vire...
Before leaving Blanot I had chosen an area on the map. I'll have to try getting there another day because Vire was not where I thought I was, but there was no arguing with the signage.
Fortunately, Anne was willing to play navigator with the map and headed us back towards Peronne. I think that's where we found the next lavoir.
I needed to be home in time to go to Elisabeth's outdoor concert that evening. Anne got us to Fougnier where I paused to catch these yellow flowers before continuing on to Blanot.

What would a trip to France be without Carol seeking to find as many lavoir as possible!
