Taking a selfie...
Parakeets and 2 rabbits live in the aviary at Cormatin.
There is a circular stair-case in the center which leads to...
...great views of the gardens and the maze created by the tall hedges.
While we were looking around, swans appeared on the garden moat...
...along with another view of that gorgeous yellow tree.
Another lavoir along the road. I think of how much fun I had searching for these on my previous visit, and now they seem to just pop up at every turn...
This lavoir needs a little loving...and water...
This is a wall on a Cluny hotel right near the Abbey...
Some villages had scales a farmer could drive his wagon onto. Most are no longer in use so, like many lavoirs, they become a village decoration.
I stopped to check out this lavoir since it was a new one for me. I noticed greenery growing in the water that looked like Siberian iris, a water lover, and then I laughed. Look closely...
Someone has goldfish swimming in here!
It's a bit off the main road, but this is where you can go to watch the goldfish...
More of that vibrant red vine!
And it is on the home of the Blanot potters who are working hard to have lots made in time for Christmas!
Their work rooms are on the left...
These grow in front of the shop itself...
And this is the front terrace for the gite I'm renting. Roses are still blooming in every yard.
On Monday Mimi and I drove a couple of hours to visit the Parc des Oiseau, or bird park. Here's a small sample from my next post...
This little guy kept nibbling at my ear, had me a little worried, but he just kept me company for awhile.
Not sure when I'll get the bird park pictures in a post because we leave early Friday for a weekend in the south of France.

I loved the leaves on Cluny which were turning purple. The bushes are as colorful as the birds!
