Mimi was content to hang out at the gite for Sunday. Besides, Lauryne and Pauline came for a late lunch and Rummikub. On Monday I figured it was only fair to go touring. Sercy seemed do-able. Since I’d been there recently, Mimi could walk through the gardens and I could have a nap in the car.
Along the way I saw a sign for Tournus and thought that might be where the fellow who makes wooden tops was located. I made a fast right and we headed west, following a road that wound its way through a dozen villages. Once we reached Tournus I knew it wasn’t the right village. We found a somewhat straighter road and did another 30 or more kilometers to the east. Later I figured that Tournage sur Bois, or turning on wood, had probably gotten me to Tournus.
By then Sercy wasn’t too much further. We stopped in the parking area in front of the chateau and took pictures of the ducks that came to greet us. Then I sent Mimi off and settled down for a rest. Being Mimi, she read the sign just inside the first open gate. It said something about a fee and, not having money on her, Mimi tried returning to the car. There was a tall, prickly hedge between us! I managed to hand her money without getting punctured.
As she walked down the long driveway a goose was on its way to meet her…and I watched…and I wondered…but the goose stopped a few feet away and let her pass unmolested.
Mimi wandered through the whole garden and woods looking for someone to give her money to, but the only person she saw was too busy working to care about her presence.
On our way home we stopped to photograph 2 storks primping in a field. The nearby cows weren’t nearly as impressed as we were. I kept trying to get those bloomin’ birds framed by the yellow flowers, but the wind had other ideas.

I'm amazed at all the large birds you are seeing. Glad to hear you are enjoying your Rummikub!
