One afternoon Elisabeth took me to an annual wine tasting in Hurigny (even with practice, I still can't pronounce this correctly!) put on by many of the local wine makers, Nicolas among them. Wine tasting not one of my reasons for being in France so, after tasting 4 varieties, I sat outside at the picnic table. There I got a chuckle from eavesdropping on two buyers conversing in English. And the pizza, made by the organic bakery where I get my bread in Cluny, was quite good!
These flowers, growing nearby, intrigued me and I don't know what they are...
As we were leaving I spotted this lavoir, one I hadn't seen before! The flower containers are cleaned out and ready for next spring...with blooming flowers lavoirs look their best.
There are lots of leaves on the ground even though the nearby tree had been trimmed.
Pruned trees are common. They have this lumpy look!
I'm surprised to see blooming flowers in November and the trees still have very green foliage. It must be much warmer there than Hedgehog Hill.
